Roll the camera…

After 20 years of painting, I finally had my first solo art show this year, and it was absolutely amazing. I met so many incredible people, made meaningful connections, and even sold a couple of original pieces— CRAZY!! We celebrated and danced the night away. It was truly a night to remember and, without a doubt, my favorite moment of 2024. Thank you to everyone who made it so special.

This painting is deeply personal and was created in honor of all the women who have experienced the pain of losing a child. It was inspired by my mom and her experience with my two sisters, who are in heaven, and the butterflies represent my grandma, who is with them too.

I’ve dreamed of seeing a Basquiat painting in person my entire life, and my sister made that dream come true. It was number one on my bucket list, and the experience was beyond anything I imagined. I was in complete awe of the details in every piece—the words, the prints, the textures, the mixed media, everything. Seeing them online doesn’t compare to witnessing them up close. I sat there for hours, completely immersed, and it felt life-changing as an artist. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has left me deeply inspired and eager to pick up my brushes and create.

Art is life—it’s what brings color, depth, and meaning to the world. Without artists, the world would be unbearably bland. That’s why it’s so important to celebrate them while they’re here. Too often, artists only gain recognition after they’ve passed, and that’s a tragedy. Support your artists. Encourage them. Uplift them. Contrary to what some may think, the world needs artists—they inspire, challenge, and shape culture in ways we can’t live without.

Over the past few months, during my painting party classes, we collected toys to donate to @toysfortotsofficial Thanks to your generosity, we were able to bring joy to so many children and families in need this holiday season.

Not only was I blessed to donate the toys, but I also had the incredible opportunity to volunteer and help distribute them alongside my brother, sister, and the @kitsap_ruffryders .It was such a humbling and beautiful experience that filled my heart with gratitude.

This is a tradition that Onaytonie & Co. will continue every year because the joy of giving is unmatched.

Thank you to everyone who donated toys, money, or even just positive energy. Your kindness is truly a blessing, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

FRIENDSGIVING PAINT & SIP was such a VIBE. Lowkey felt like we were at a club lol. It was a good southern meal, mixed with good drinks, all night karaoke, lots of laughter, and of course art! The perfect night. Being that I’ve never taken an art class, I never thought I would be a teacher. But here we are lol. So grateful and blessed for all these opportunities and blessings.
