Inspiration
I was asked to create artwork for a flyer inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. The first word that came to me was REGAL. I wanted her to embody confidence and quiet power—fully bloomed, with texture in her hair and pearls resting gracefully at her neck.
What was meant to be a flyer became a masterpiece.
The original painting will be on display at the Black History Month soirée at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art on February 21.
