Harada Farm is a nature resort where visitors can pick their own fruit all year long. Strawberries, cherries, blueberries, peaches, apples, grapes, and even vegetables and mushrooms are ripe and ready to go! We got to pick and take 2 full bags of grapes home. Before this trip, I had never seen grapes in its natural form outside of a grocery store. It was so cool to cut them from the vines and to see the whole grape growing process. They were so heavy and plump! While at Harada Farm we also tried some amazing apple juice and apple soft serve ice cream. This apple juice was made in heaven because it was unreal. You would have to taste it to believe me. We bought multiple bottles to bring home as well.
Kokeshi dolls are originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs. The bottom is typically marked with the signature of the Artist. We got the opportunity to paint and design our very own custom Kokeshi Dolls! I died laughing the whole entire process because my husband’s kokeshi doll had a vampire-ish smile with many teeth and a super detailed hairline lol. Having the opportunity to make a custom kokeshi doll was a blessing. I even got a one of a kind Mickey Mouse kokeshi doll to add to my collection!
